虽说咱们中国人数学好，不过碰到英语表达数字，立即变成小学生。

总头开始学：个十百千万，最基础的数字单位

. Q0 z6 k9 Z6 K' j9 F7 s$ M英语里的数字单位跟中文有些不同，比如我们的“万”这个概念，英语里则是“十千”，“亿”则是“百百万”。

• ten million: 一千万
• a hundred million: 一亿
• a billion: 十亿
• ten billion: 一百亿

除了thousands of, 英语里具体数字涉及hundred, thousand都不加s:

• 比如3000是three thousand;
• 30000是thirty thousand；
• 30万是300 hundred thousand, 都不加s；
• Million和billion也是相同逻辑
  

千位数：书面、口语表达方式不同

像1500这样的，千位百位都是有数字，个位十位都是零的数字，口语中常常把前两位按十位数念出来，再加上hundred。

• 1500即fifteen hundred
• 6600即sixty-six hundred
  

但如果是整千的数字，也就是百位数是零的话，比如5000，就不能说成“fifty hundred”，而应该念“five thousand”。

不是整数的数字怎么念？

窍门是遇到四位数以上的数字，我们先遵循英语千、万...的表达方法，接着把剩下的数字放在一起念：

• 1555: fifteen hundred and fifty five或者one thousand five hundred and fifty-five
• 15555: fifteen thousand five hundred and fifty five
• 155555: a hundred fifty thousand five hundred and fifty five
  

虽然有点搞，不过大家多看几遍，就会理解其中的规律了；

价格怎么念？

去过美国的朋友一定知道，美国的价格经常以.99结尾，碰到这类数字该怎么念呢？

一般表达价格的时候，念法都会有所简化。比如小数点(demical point)就会直接省略，不用说point; 而dollar等钱的单位在口语里也常常不说。

Words like “dollars” and “cents” are often omitted in spoken English: 口语里”块”和”毛”经常省略
You‘ll often hear “nine ninety-nine” instead of “nine dollars and ninety-nine cents”: 9块9毛9一般说成”nine ninety-nine”, 而不是“nine dollars and ninety-nine cents”
People simplify these number-related expressions for the sake of convenience: 许多数字的念法被简化了，为了说起来更方便

小数和分数

9 k0 C. }" B5 o: T8 s: D小于1的数字，最前面的零口语里可以省略，比如0.8就是point eight。

分数的念法和中文是反过来的，比如：

1/5是one fifth; 3/5是three fifth, 1/10是one tenth

另外注意，后缀要加th

percentage: 百分数
