Today we are going to talk about a common word in Chinese that’s a little difficult to translate into English.

今天我们要聊聊一个很普遍但难以翻译成英文的中文单词: 加油。

Many Chinese people like to translate "加油" as "fighting" .Even though this is ok, native speakers don’t use “ fighting” in this way. Let’s learn some different ways to encourage people in English.

很多中国人把加油翻译成 “fighting.” 虽然这么说没问题，我们母语是英语的人不会这样用这个词。我们一起看看一些不同给人鼓励的方法吧！

如果我们想说“加油”，可以说：

Let’s go!

Go for it!

如果我们想给人鼓励可以说：

Keep it up!

Don’t give up!

Good luck!

今天的重要发音是  good，我们不应该把这个词读成 “古得”，中间的 oo 的声音是 ʊ，还有后边的 d 应该是很短，纯粹的声音。
