＃1. Okay能当动词用

$ [" b; }, f7 \  }8 l# BOkay is probably one of the most commonly spoken words in the world: Okay也许是世界上最常用的词
You can use okay as a verb: okay可以当动词用
It means to give permission: 意思是许可、准许、通过
例句：
The boss needs to okay this project: 老板得点头通过这个项目
Did your wife okay your trip to Dong Guan? 你老婆同意你去东莞旅游吗？
So either your boss or your wife needs to okay something: 通常要么是老板、要么是老婆okay一件事
I guess your wife is kind of like your boss: 我觉得某种意义上，老婆就像老板
He is whipped: 他是个妻管严

If something is “doing it for you”, it means it’s effective for you. You respond to it: 如果什么东西“doing it for you”，意思是你觉得它很有效，你对它有反应、有共鸣
If something “not doing it for you”, it means you are not responding to it: 如果一个东西“not doing it for you”, 意思是对你没用，你对它没感觉
例句：
Modern art is not doing it for me: 现代艺术，我看了一点没感觉

Doable: 能不能做到、能不能办到
It's a great word for making appointments, set time and checking work status: 这个词用来约时间、约聚会、协调工作进度都很好/ a  {* X( Q. D) _# b

Get means to understand and grasp: get这里的意思是明白、掌握
Get it?/Got it? 明白了吗？清楚吗？
It's used a lot when delegating tasks at work: 工作布置任务的时候，很常用
例句：
Everybody get it? 大家明白了吗？
不过要注意语气) x4 H4 y7 j% [6 S; U) J* B4 f
When saying “Got it?” pay attention to the tone of voice: 说“Got it？”时，要注意语气1 c2 d4 \( q$ g( \! ^
It might sound impatient and threatening: 有可能听上去不耐烦, 甚至像在威胁别人
% V1 J! X( }$ L$ m1 K) ?怎么办？
5 j5 `: {/ x- B; _You can say “I think I got it” when answering: 回答的时候可以说“I think I got it”2 Q0 O* s& {1 Q& _
When you add “I think” to your statements, it doesn’t mean you are actually thinking, It softens the tone: 在句子前加“I think”不一定表示你在思考，作用是软化语气/ B: a- N) n; Y% ?: ~6 }
When asking “Got it?", you might want to say it with a smile: 如果你是问"Got it?", 那说的时候最好带着微笑% t7 c9 u1 ^# _$ D# G

＃4 Work：手机、电脑常常不work
If something is broken or not functioning: you can say “It’s not working”：如果什么东西坏了或者没用了，你可以说“It’s not working”
You can also use it in a positive way: 也可以是肯定的用法，代表有用、运作正常的意思
例句：
My phone/my computer isn’t working: 我电话/电脑坏了
This approach isn't working: 这个方法不行、没用
My phone/my computer works：我电话/电脑没问题
This approach works: 这个方法有用

恋爱也不work
"Work" is also used a lot in relationships: work在人际关系里也很常用
You could say, “It’s just not working out”: 可以说 “It's just not working out”，意思是“这段关系走不下去、发展不下去”
It's commonly said before a breakup: 分手之前很常用1 X; R' |# J) D8 @7 D3 i
It's not working out. It’s not you, it’s me:  我们走不下去，问题不是你，是我& E4 \9 L+ B  T3 C2 q
Not just for romantic relationships, but also in terms of work: 不只是谈恋爱，工作中也能用
! q; i# r8 \3 V# GFor example, before you end a professional relationship, you can say "this is not working out": 比如，结束一段工作关系时，也可以说"this is not working out"4 u# Q5 y4 y% |4 b- i) V: }: Y
It means you are not a good fit: 意思是你不适合这个工作; s5 _( {1 q5 n6 H4 r% Q
